Yummy Chocolate Brownies!

12:44:00

Heya,

As a mid-week treat for you all I thought I would put together a Chocolate Brownie recipe tutorial! This is both different and exciting news for my blog as it is primarily a Fashion and Beauty Blog.
I made these Brownies for a picnic with my friends and they went down a treat! They have a soft but crisp crust and a yummy, soft and gooey centre! Rich but great!
So  without further ado, here it is...

You will need:

1 baking/roasting tin with measurements 30 x 23 x 4cm

275g of Butter (soft)
375g of Caster Sugar
4 eggs (large)
75g of Cocoa Powder (I used Cadbury's Bournville)
100g of Self-raising Flour
50g of Milk Chocolate Chips
50g of White Chocolate Chips
8 chunks of Milk Chocolate

Cooling Rack
Wooden spoon
Spatula
Mixing Bowl
Knife

Method:
1. Preheat your oven to 180°c / 160°c (fan) / gas mark 4.
2. Using a non-stick baking parchment cut a rectangle that fills the whole of the baking tin (bottom and sides). Stick it down with butter so that it can easily be removed once cooked.
3. Using an electric mixer, Kitchen Aid or by hand, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
4. Add the 4 eggs and 4 tablespoons of the flour to the butter and sugar, thoroughly combining the ingredients again using your preferred method of mixing. The flour stops the mixture from curdling.
5. Sieve the remaining flour and cocoa powder into the mixture and combine using your preferred method.
6. Lastly add the chocolate chips and stir in using a wooden spoon or spatula.
7. Pour the mixture into the tin levelling it off with a spoon
8. Bake in the oven for 40-50 minutes
9. Once the Brownies have a crusty top and a skewer  inserted comes out clean, place the tin on cooling rack.
10. Melt the 8 pieces of chocolate either over a bowl of hot water in the microwave.
11. Drizzle the melted chocolate all over the cooked brownie, ensuring the whole tin is evenly covered. The more chocolate the better!
12. When the brownie is completely cool, cut it into 24 equal squares
13. Store in an airtight container

Tips and Tricks
Use a strong/ sturdy spatula to get everything out of the mixing bowl.

If you have any mixture left, take another smaller  tin, line it in the same way and cook for half the time depending on how much mixture you have left.

Instead of drizzling the chocolate on top, melt a little more and spread across the whole of the top of the brownie.

Use Chocolate Chunks instead of Chips for a chunkier Brownie.

Make a Giant Brownie for a celebratory cake, by not cutting it into squares.

Hope you enjoy making these Brownies! They are great for parties, birthdays, or just as a treat! Super easy to make and super easy to eat!
