4 Ways to Wear a Flannel Shirt

16:19:00

Heya,

Flannel Shirts are due to be big this Autumn/ Winter so I thought I'd put up a post with 4 ways in which you can wear this statement piece! I have chosen to provide you with 1 picture with the 4 ways so if you prefer to just have a visual aid, you can easily see the 4 different ways, but if you'd like to see styling suggestions, text is below.

My Flannel shirt is from New Look, purchased several years ago. It has rolled cropped sleeves and falls just past the pockets on my jeans.

1. Worn and tied half way.

Wear your flannel shirt over a cropped tee/ vest and tie the shirt around half way of its full length or to wear the cropped tee/ vest ends. Team with a pair of high waisted jeans or tube pants for a casual yet edgy look. If you are less confident wear a long line vest/ tee and tie the shirt half way so the bottom and top of the under- top can be seen.

2.  Tied around waist.

Wear a plain cropped tee/ vest that falls to the top of your jeans (or leggings) and tie your shirt around the middle. If you are wearing jeans, or something with belt holes, thread the arms of you shirt through the front two before tying. This ensures that your shirt stays put throughout the day so you don't have to worry about it falling down. This look I have seen creeping into trends only lately and I feel it looks great for a casual day where you are not trying on clothes.

3. Simply Tucked in.

Wear with a top underneath or just on it's own, button up the shirt to whatever level you like and tuck in your trousers. This simplistic look is great for evening or casual wear depending on your trousers and can be accessorised easily with a statement necklace and Chelsea boots.

4. Worn but undone.

Wear over a simple crop or full length tee/ vest and jeans to create a slouchy look fab for a casual day out. The shirt acts as a sort of jacket that looks great yet effortless. If you want to dress it up a little, add simple jewellery and ballet pumps or to keep it simple just add a pair of converse, vans or even biker boots.

Hope you have enjoyed this post and it has inspired you for ways in which to work this growing trend.
