Hair Rings...?

19:54:00

Heya,
So today's post is about hair rings... I know what you are thinking... rings for your hair... yes it is certainly different. I thought this at first, but after thinking about how this new, upcoming trend could be worn and developed, I have fallen in love with it, allowing it take 1st place on my shopping list!

The idea of the hair ring is to add detail and glamour to even the simplest of styles. They can be worn in ponytails and half-ponies, to hold pigtails (bunches) in place, weaved through plaits and braids and to hide ghastly looking bands. I like the thought of them being worn at the band of a high full ponytail... perhaps or perhaps to tie off a French or Dutch braid.
The aesthetics of the rings vary but the general shape is that of a ring worn on your finger as this is what is used in most cases! Yes, you don't even have to go out a search for special rings! They will vary in size and thickness, depending on your intended use of the ring. For example, small, thin rings such as finger-tip rings can be weaved into plaits and braids, so they do not look out of place and over powering, on the other hand, for ponytails you could use larger rings so they can fit over the large chunk of hair, and thicker, so they appear more of a detail and band. Of course you don't have to stick to my suggestions, try mixing it up a little!

The Method to applying a hair ring:

  1. Take the section of hair you wish to put the ring on,
  2. Twist the section so it is tight, but not so tight that it begins to curl,
  3.  Take the ring and twist it up the section of twisted hair,
  4. If you are planning on using the ring as a pigtail/ponytail ring, take a clear hairband to secure the ring does not fall out
  5. If the ring is being used in a plait/braid, continue the plait/braid, repeating steps 1-3 as many times as you wish.
  6. Depending on where you purchase your hair ring(s), they can be great bargain or fairly expensive, however, I believe they will be well worth the investment. Perhaps, to save money, you could use your favourite ring or an old, unused ring rather than buying new, what can be expensive rings.

I have done a bit of research on the best for hair can be purchased selecting my favourites which can be seen below. I will also post links to the stores that sell them.
Enjoy!
